A successful founder of a tech venture in the Africa space and a strong believer in the power of brand stories, the founder of ODBA approached us to build the narrative of his VC firm that aimed to put people at the heart of everything it does.
With his experience showing him that entrepreneurship is a path taken by a few and understood by even fewer, ODBA's founder approached us holding the strong belief that founders are the best people to invest in founders.
From his previous interactions with VCs as a budding founder and his more recent experiences as an investor, he was adamant that Africa-focused VCs, in particular, had shifted their focus from people to numbers. He wanted to build a VC firm that elevated the people, stories, cultural moments and intangibles that come together to cause ideas to breakthrough.
We worked closely with the founder to capture the purpose, challenges, thoughts and passion behind founding ODBA VC. From these we built a coherent verbal and visual identity for ODBA from the ground up, which unlike many African and global VCs, brings the focus back onto the people behind the ventures, numbers and growth. ODBA VC is focused on backing founders who are creating improbable stories.
